We've added a "Slow Speech" option to Fluenz Online so be sure to give that a try. I think it'll be beneficial if you're having trouble with the speed of the phrases. Hope this helps!

Funny! I went back and ran through a few of them and ran was able to observe what you mention and do recall thinking the same thing. This is good practice because it keeps you on your toes. You expect to hear una and la is said instead. What I noticed is that this is an example of short busts words that sound a little different than what you expect them to sound like. In this unit examples I could have swore she was saying quieres not quiere but I knew it was not quieres because she was a hostess seating a patron not a friend asking a question. Also, you will not always hear the "a" in voy a hacer because in natural speech it sounds like "acer"or is indeed the a is dropped. When you get to the end of level 3 the last couple of modules are in super fast speed...and unless you have perfect memory you probably may always have trouble with that with the 4th and 5th item in the list because they are long in english, nevermind a foreigh language.
Fluenz is not the only program that you need to leverage to improve your Spanish. You should be listening to A1/A2 videos online, using text books with exercises, and reading books for A1/A2/B1 learners. There is also italki online where you can actually pay 5 bucks to speak with someone in argentina or peru, etc.
