Dennis,
I rode exactly that same tour with Experience Plus back in 1998 and it was my best vacation *ever*. I loved it so much, that I biked another tour with them in 1999, starting in Venice and heading northwest into the Dolomites. I agree that Venice was one of my favorite cities. But Lucca also left an impact on me. Not for its famous tourist sites, but because it felt like a very authentic Italian city with a long history.
I am heading back (finally) in May this year for a photography workshop based in Siena. Can't wait! And this new trip is what caused me to discover Fluenz 4 weeks ago. I am now on session 11 of Italian 1 and loving it!
