Italian 4+ 5 should hopefully be out within a month or two.

I agree about the language and class thing. By the way, when you stated "Unfortunately, there's no where to go without help in the form of more lessons. And there's none in sight." what about the audio cd's and podcast? There's more :) And yes as Jordan said above Italian 4+5 will be coming out soon (by the end of the year).

Yahoooooo! Italian 4 and 5 are coming out soon? I've repeated Italian 3 three times already. I'm eager for the next one.

Tx for the comments. Right now I'm going over 3 again and do well, but it shows I'm far from having it down pat. I use the audio all the time in the car. Looking forward to 4-5.

Stephen, I can definitely relate. When I was growing up, my Italian grandfather lived with my family, and at the time I was a typical self-centered teenager totally absorbed with my superficial life. I had absolutely no desire to learn Italian, and now I think back of how stupid I was. But, the past is the past.
There are plenty of other sources to keep your skills fresh and even to acquire new ones. Check out the Yabla website. It's a treasure trove of short Italian videos from all walks of life, complete with sub-titles and playback ability. Also, if you have an iPad, check out the ebook "Perfect Your Italian". The e-version has a neat video function where you can read and listen to advanced dialogs at the same time. It's absolutely invaluable. Finally, look around your work site. One of my co-workers is a retired Italian high school teacher, so she and I have begun meeting in a coffee shop weekly so that I can start acquiring speaking skills.
Buona Fortuna,
Gerry

I, too, have been really anxious to have Fluenz Italian 4+, but there are many places to go from here without it. I found a italian language school in my nearest city, found wonderful italian language books at a website called applause, have purchased fiction (for the kids and for me) from amazon.it and lafeltrinelli.com. I use an ipod app called Anki for extra flash cards where I can add my own and I have another app, Conjugation Nation. As much as I would have selfishly liked for Fluenz to focus all their attention on making the next versions of the language *I* wanted to learn, I recognize that they have a business to run and satisfied my desire for learning in other ways. Buona fortuna e buon imparando a tutti!

We really understand your feelings and rest assured that we're working on Italian. Many many people are asking for Italian 4 and 5 every single day and there is nothing we'd like better than to be able to finish and make them available to all. Please understand how difficult it is to produce these programs and ultimately, how manual the process is. Please bear with us. We're hoping to bring both programs out by the summer. The good news in the meantime is that Rai.it is broadcasting live news on their website. If you have problem with the silverlight plugin (which is the MSN technology they use) you can download it here: http://goo.gl/4jWA5
