The use of personal pronouns is optional, but both answers with the personal pronouns and without them should be accepted. (Articles are "La" "Il" "Lo" "I" "Le" "Gli", "Agli", etc.) Generally, the use of personal pronouns indicates a more formal language, or you can also hear it when people want to make emphasis on the person they are referring to (I, you, etc.).
