As a native spanish speaker, I use beber y tomar almost equally. Tomar is similar to using 'to have' in english when it comes to drinks. Just like you can say in english 'I had some wine' or 'do you want to have a beer? instead of using the verb to drink.

whereas: Isabella esta muy bien'is telling you that Isabella is presently doing very well / Isabella esta aprendiendo Espanol is telling you that Isabella is currently learning spanish / Isabella es de new york tells you that Isabella is from New york
