Answer Question
Spanish L2, Lesson 15. Why llevar and not traer?
When Sonya is explaining llevar and traer, she asks "can you bring some wine?" and the response is "Yes, I can take some wine."
This sounds really weird in English. Why is it not yes, I can bring some wine?
Upon researching this, it seems that Spanish is more precise. English "purists" say that bring implies movement of the thing towards the speaker and "take" implies movement away from the speaker. But in English, it's perfectly fine to say "I'm bringing you wine." I would never say "I'm taking you wine."
I think I may have answered my own question :)
