In the "write the phrase you read" section the following phrase is given to translate:
Do you eat a lot of vegetables? Yes, I love asparagus(p) and broccoli(p)
The answer given as correct is:
Vous mangez beaucoup de legumes? Oui, j'adore les asperges et les brocolis.
My question is this: Why is the definite article "les" used with asperges and brocolis, and not the indefinite article "des"? I searched for the explanation but at this point I have five notebooks of notes and the search became a forlorn ambition.
