Answer Question
Street names: Latin Spanish Level 1 Lesson 27
Hi everyone,
I'm having great difficulty understanding the following sentence in Latin Spanish level 1, lesson 27:
"El hotel está en la avenida tres con la calle ocho."
The English translation given in the lesson is : The hotel is on the avenue three with the street eight.
I'm afraid this translation does not make sense to me for several reasons:
1) Are "avenue three" and "calle ocho" actually street names? As street names these would usually be capitalised in English.
2) Does the use of 'con' mean that the address refers to a corner? Again, in English I would expect a translation to say ..."on the corner of Avenue Three and (or 'with') Street Eight"
I'd greatly appreciate some clarity about this,
Many thanks,
cheers
