Answer Question
Why are they using ci sono instead of c' e in this instance?
In level 3 of Italian, one of the sentences is, " At home there is cereal and fruit, but there isn't coffee." I thought the answer would be" A casa c' e cereali e frutta, ma non c' e caffe." But , fluenz has the answer, " A casa ci sono cereali e frutta, ma non c' e caffe" So why in the beginning of the sentence, are they using " ci sono" instead of "c' e"? "We wouldn't say there are cereal and fruit." Please help me understand. -Kaylyn
