Answer Question
Level 3, session 20
Bonjour! I have a question on Level 3, session 20, "Write the phrase you read." Up comes the following phrase: "How much does this dish cost? It isn’t too expensive and it is very good"
I gave the following answer:
Combien est-ce que ce plat coûte? Il n'est pas trop cher et il est très bon.
It was flagged wrong, and this was given as the correct answer:
Combien coûte ce plat? Il n’est pas trop cher et il est très bon
Now, I totally get why the given answer is correct. But isn't mine correct as well? Doesn't the presence of "est-ce que" mean that I'm supposed to swap the subject and the verb?
Thanks in advance for clearing up my confusion.
Brian
