Answer Question
Isn't Je veux a bit rude?
I am currently a Foreign Service Officer who is augmenting my French language training with Fluenz (great program BTW!). But I have to ask this question - in the program you teach people how to say I want as "je veux". Although technically correct, I have been told by numerous French teachers that this is VERY impolite, and is usually something reserved for children. The more polite method would be to use "Je voudrais"- the conditionel tense. The same often applies to Pouvoir as well. I realize that to add a liitle about the conditional might add confusion for some, but it seems that teaching the more polite form might be better for usage for adults while we're traveling in and around French-speaking countries.
P.S. - I haven't gone through all of French 3 yet, so if what I said above is in there - please forgive me.
