Answer Question
Esta vs Está
Ok, so I'm now on lesson 9 on CD1 and kinda deflated now that I see there is ESTA without the accent. How am I supposed to listen to someone and know which word they mean ESTA vs está? Earlier I learned that este means "this" but now I'm told if it's feminine then it's esta.
And to add to my confusion, the pronunciation of apellido is more like ap-eh-yee-do whereas the word allá is ah-ja. Is this inconsistency in pronouncing double L on purpose or is this part of the language because I want to learn it right.
Just when I'm getting the hang of this I feel like I get punched in the gut.
