Answer Question
direct and indirect pronouns
Just when I thought I understood the difference between direct and indirect pronouns....
I buy flowers. flowers is the direct object pronoun (DO) I buy them.
compro flores. or las compro. (Las replaces flowers)
then I come across this one:
I can help sloan. or I can help her. To me, her is a DO, not an IO.
Puedo ayudar Sloan. I can help Sloan.
I thought this would us the DO and be Puedo ayudarla (or la puedo ayudar)
But, it seems the translations is Puedo ayudarle.
Why is "le" used (the IO) instead of "la" (the DO)?
Thansk!
