Answer Question
Estaba vs era
I'm a little confused as to when it is appropriate to use estaba vs era. I understand that they are both translated as "used to be". So in the phrase "That store used to be everywhere." (Sp. 5, session 5, match the words), the program translates it as "Esa tienda estaba en todos lados." Would it also be correct using era? Or is there some implication of permanence that I'm not understanding, just like present conjugations of ser vs estar? Any general rule of thumb I can use? Thanks in advance for any advice!
