Answer Question
Missing accent marks in this lesson (and many others)?
Hello, first-time poster.
I am on session 15 of Fluenz Spanish 1 and have encountered a lot of missing accent marks in the exercises following the main lesson. This doesn't only happen in lesson 15, however; it has happened all throughout the program.
You teach that...
éste / ésta / éstos / éstas / ése / ésa / ésos / ésas
...all use accent marks if they aren't being used to describe a noun that follows.
However, in the various Fluenz exercises these accent marks are completely left out (thus causing confusion). For example...
"Necesito comprar muchos de ese" should be "Necesito comprar muchos de ése" -- right?
"Necesito comprar cinco de esas, pero más grandes" -- again, shouldn't that "esas" be "ésas"?
Am I mistaken or are these genuine mistakes?
Also, one sentence structure I'm not really sure about:
"Yo quiero ocho de estas nuevas" -- in this case, should it be "estas" or "éstas"? I think this one might already be right as is because "estas" is describing "nuevas," but I want to make sure.
Thank you.
