Answer Question
Understanding a few words on German radio
After someone else here suggested it, I tried the TuneIn app for iPhone: http://tunein.com/mobile/ios/
I quite like being able to listen to radio stations pretty much anywhere in the world. And I know I've only finished 1 Level of Fluenz, and I don't understand much of what they say, but it's exciting to hear a few words or small phrases that I recognize. Then combine that with the words that don't really translate, like brand names, artist names, words like "grammy awards" and so on, and it's interesting how much I can deduce. Also, as much as I hate hearing the same advertisements and songs over and over on my American radio stations, it's quite helpful hearing the same ads and songs in a foreign language; each time I hear something, I pick up a bit more. So try it.
