Answer Question
Imperfect tense for "was supposed to?"
In Spanish 5, session 19, we learn a use of the imperfect for incomplete actions; i.e., they were intended but did not occur. Fluenz translates this in English as "I had to (do something)...but not anymore." This seems an awkward English construction, and I recall in French a similar situation which I think was translated as "I was supposed to (do something)..." (but didn't, or not any more, etc.) Is this the same thing? It seems to make more sense, at least to me.
