Answer Question
Using "garçon" to call a waiter.
I am currently working in French level 3, session 5. The exercise describes the proper way to refer to a waiter as "garçon." I've seen this in older French courses as well. However, in the Beginning French course I'm taking at the local community college, we've been told that using the word garçon is not the proper way to call a waiter. We've been instructed that using monsieur is more acceptable. So, which is it, garçon or monsieur?
