Answer Question
Conjugations for IR and ER verbs
I understand that verbs ending in "IR" take on the "ER" endings for PRESENT TENSE conjugations, as the "ER" verbs are dominate. For example, "he goes up" (el sube). I also understand that for conjugating verbs using the word "us" (nosotros) that the "IR" and "ER" verbs maintain their "IR" and "ER" endings respectively. However, when it comes to PAST TENSE, I get the impression that both "IR" and "ER" verbs take on the "IR" form when conjugating for "us" (nosotros). For example:"we saw" (nosotros vimos). This is confusing because there was a point in time when Sonia said that when conjugating for "us" (nosotros) that the conjugation remains the same for both PRESENT and PAST tense. However, this appears to only hold true for "AR" and "IR" verbs and NOT for "ER" verbs. Am I correct when I say this? Thank you.
