Answer Question
Why not "payer 'pour' les tickets"?
I've noticed that I can say "Je vais achĂȘter les tickets" (I am going to buy the tickets), but when I say "Elle va payer les tickets," it sounds like I'm stating that she's paying the tickets--actually handing some money over to the tickets themselves for services rendered. Why isn't the word "pour" used, as in "Elle va payer 'pour' les tickets"?
