Answer Question
Spanish 1, Lesson 14
I am confused by the use of a (to) before words that already mean "to do" something. For example, saying "a comer." Why isn't this saying to to eat? Vamos a ir a comer. Since ir means to go and comer means to eat, why doesn't this translate as "Let's go to to go to to ea?" It seems like we shouldn't need to use the extra "a" in each case.
