The use of Möchten in Sie Möchten when referring to one person
Perhaps im missing something or misunderstanding something here. But it seems to be that when for example, asking one person whether they want water you use the plural möchten as opposed to the singular möchte.
Sie Möchten ein Wasser trinken?
Can someone explain why its not möchte when using Sie to ask one person if they want something?
