Answer Question
Correct use and placement of De, Du and Des / Placement of "Y"
Okay so I'm in level 2 session 11 of the French program and a few things are confusing me.
Firstly, when using 'y' as a substitute for a place in a sentence, such as J'y vais aller, is there a rule to follow as to where it goes in the sentance, such as before a the verb or something?
And secondly, I can't seem to get when to use de and du, in sentences, is it used to describe posession or something? Such as "a droite de l'escaliers".. I never know whether to use a droite du, a droite de, and always get muddled up like that. Is it a gender thing?
Thank You :-)
