Answer Question
Spoken Contractions
I just started Italian 1. I’ve completed up through session 7. We learn that dove `e, becomes dov’ `e when spoken. Is this universally true whenever one word ends in a vowel and the next starts with a vowel? I seem to be hearing for example: "vuole il menu" becomes "vuol’ il menu" and "quale hotel" becomes "qual’ hotel"? Accordingly, is it always the ending vowel that is dropped? i.e. - "vuol’ il menu," or "vuole ‘l menu?"
