Answer Question
Some minor clarifications
I just started Level 2. I’d like to get a couple of little things clarified.
When saying thank you, the native speakers sometimes clearly say “Grat-si-ay” and other times just “Grat-si” Does adding the final “ay” sound really matter? Is it analogous to the english Thank-you Vs. Thanks? Trivial; I know…just wondering.
Also, questo & quello: Sonia constantly translates these as “this one” and “that one.”
Yet, when I translate them into english, I find “this” and “that” work perfectly well. Does the italian actually contain a “sense of” -this ONE- or -that ONE-?
