Only a request? i.e.: Word Order
This may be knit-picking, but to translate “Puo portarmi solo un panino?”, Sonia says, "Can you only bring me a sandwich"; thereby placing “only” before the english verb whereas it’s after the italian verb. Personally, I would never say it like that in english. Shouldn’t the translation be the same word order as the italian? “Can you bring me only a sandwich?”
As a side note, if you substitute the word ‘just’ for ‘only’, the difference in meaning is easier to see. I.e. : “Can you just bring me…”, sounds like a command. “Can you bring me just…”, sounds like a request.
