Answer Question
Contractions and spaces
Fluenz stresses that when we write contractions in Italian, such as un' altra cosa or l' ufficio, there needs to be a space between the ' and the next word. Writing l'ufficio would be wrong according to Fluenz. However, this rule is according to Fluenz ONLY. In every other instructional program and book I've looked at, as well as the Italian novels I'm reading for practice, there is never a space. So ... why does Fluenz insist on that space?
