Answer Question
Question of Grammar
Ciao everyone. I'm in level 2, session 4 and in the "match the phrases" portion of the exercises two statements are given that I'm having a little trouble with:
1. "Vado a mangiare con un collega dell' ufficio." The translation given is, "(I)'m going to eat with a colleague from the office". I don't understand this. I thought "dell'" meant "of the." If we were wanting to say "a colleage from the office" wouldn't we say "un collega dall' ufficio"?
2. "Siamo stati in questo ristorante. `E molto buono!" The translation given is, "(We) were at this restaurant. (It)'s very good!" My question here is why do we use the Italian preposition "in" instead of "a"? If our goal is to say "at this restaurant", wouldn't it be better to say "a questo ristorante" instead of "in questo ristorante"?
Grazie to anyone who can help!
