Answer Question
conjugate or infinitive?
Still can't select Italian 5, so this is under the wrong heading.
Anyway, on the CD supplement for Level 5, on the very last track, there is an exercise of building sentences. One sentence says something like "my tongue hurts when I eat chocolate, so I believe I am allergic".
The translation is "mi fa male la lingua quando mangio la cioccolata, quindi credo essere allergica°.
You might think my question has to do with what kind of person's tongue hurts while eating chocolate, but no!
My question is why the use of essere rather than sono? Is it because "credo" is the first verb and is already conjugated?
