Answer Question
Placement of prossimo and scorso
I am currently almost through Italian level 2, and I am a bit confused about the use of prossimo and scorso. In lesson 11 of the DVD and session 5 on the CD it seemed to be stated pretty emphatically that when referring to next week or next month the word prossimo should come after the noun: la settimana prossima, il mese prossimo. But since then I have noticed several cases where it is used before the noun. For example, in lesson 25 'pick the right answer' section one of the questions is: 'La prossima settimana andiamo a Parigi?' In podcast 6 one of the sentences is: 'Lui vuole venire il prossimo mese con la sua familia.' So, is there any rule about using prossimo and scorso before or after a noun?
