Answer Question
Her house or his house?
This is a question regarding a sentence encountered in Level 2 Lesson 8.
"Hier soir, nous sommes allés voir sa nouvelle maison". (answer: Yesterday evening, we went to see her new house.)
How is it determined that the house is "hers"? Could it not be "his", as well? My understanding is that the "sa nouvelle" agrees with "maison", and therefore both are feminine, but could represent either "his new", or "her new". Is my understanding correct?
Edit: There is no context from related sentences to determine the gender of the person that owns the house.
