L'on vs. on
I'm almost done with French 5 and have been starting to work my way through some French writing. One of the things that tripped me up when reading French was the use of "l'on". Here is a good summation of when it's used:

It says it's mostly used in formal writing but I've also heard it in a few songs. For example "Sa jeunesse" (first lyric beings "lorsque l'on..."):
