Answer Question
Avere/Essere with Cominciare
In Level 5, session 8, Sofia explains that Avere is used with cominciare/finire when the verb is transitive, eg. Ho cominciato il progetto; but Essere when no direct object, eg., La festa `e cominciata alle due. I get it, that is easily understood. However, in the exercises, what I thought should be Sono cominciati a studiare il mese scorso - They began to study last month - was in fact "Hanno cominciato a studiare il mese scorso. Can someone explain why this is so? Thanks.
