Answer Question
Singular vs plural when referring to monetary amounts
I am right now starting French Level 2 and have noticed that when saying "it's 100 euros" or any monetary amount we use the singular tense of ^etre, i.e. "c'est cent euros" instead of saying "ce sont cent euros". I am fluent in Spanish so my instinct is to use the plural like it is done in Spanish, i.e. "son cien euros". Is it incorrect to say "ce sont cent euros"? Thanks!
