Answer Question
Eliding of vowel sounds
I am at Disc One, Lesson 5. I notice toward the end of the lesson, where the male speaker recites the phrases, that there is a definite eliding or joining of vowel sounds when two like vowels come together between two words. Example: Este café___ estå bueno. One of the e sounds is dropped with the result sounding like cah-fay-stah. So, is there a rule for this, or is it just what happens in coloquial speech??
