Answer Question
Overly formal?
I'm seeing a lot pf phrases like the following: Mi esposo va a ir más tarde al hotel. My husband is going to go later to the hotel. How many "to gos" are needed? Why not Mi esposo va a más tarde al hotel. Why the 'ir' or 'to go' when it is already expressed with va a al? And it is clearly implied he is going to... This seems awkward and redundant. Do people in Latin America really talk like that or are these lessons being overly formal? When I listen to elementary conversations on video I don't hear this type of redundancy. Thanks.
