Answer Question
When is the partitive article used for salad?
Bonjour, I'm just finishing up Session 7 in Level 3, and I'm getting confused with salad. In one of the exercises, the answer is "Vous avez mangé un sandwich au jambon avec une salade." Another answer reads, "On a mangé quelques sandwichs et de la salade."
My understanding is that "une salade" is a big bowl of salad that everyone is going to share and put on individual plates and that "de la salade" refers to a salad made for and served to one person. Is that right? How do I know when to use each one?
