Answer Question
French Music
To all my fellow french learners... Since I am learning to speak french (up to Lvl 2: lesson 3) I figured it might be a great idea to check out their current popular music since I am a huge fan of music overall. I have to say I was quite impressed with two particular artists I came across: Indilia and Stromae. I suggest to anyone who is also learning to listen to some french songs on youtube, as I am finding it helps me improve my pronunciation. Plus, I get super excited when I can understand a word or two here and there lol.. I found that I try and listen as I go to see what I can pick up on, more and more, and its a proud feeling when your comprehension improves as you listen. I try and listen to a few songs once every other wk, or even weekly, based on my progression with the lessons. In just one week I was able to understand more than I had when I previously listened to one song in particular. I personally like to listen to Daniere Danse by Indilia and Papaoutai, Formidable, or alors on dans from Stromae (who I actually really like and although cannot fully understand yet have to admit is quite talented) - even if you do not like this genre of music, I recommend listening for pronunciation purposes.. its really helping IMO because he speaks rather fast so it will help you in the real world since people you will converse with in french will speak fast too. You can always also search youtube for your own genre in french as well, if you prefer, these were just suggestions based on what I have heard so far. If anyone else has any additional songs they know of to add to these, I would love to hear them! Au Revoir et Bonne chance! (Be careful though, like it or not, understand it or not, the indilia song and papaoutai get stuck in your head for days!! ;) )
