Answer Question
A Fluenz French graduate's trip to Paris
Hi all,
I just got back from a 23-day trip to Paris, a trip intended to gauge my progress in learning French. During my time with Fluenz I wondered the same things I've seen a few people ask in the Commons: how much of this material is relevant and how well will it prepare me for real-world situations?
Hopefully Fluenz doesn't mind me posting a link to my blog, but as a Fluenz French graduate, this might give you an idea:

The shorter version: a vast majority of what you're learning in Fluenz is relevant and will prepare you well for basic interactions in "touristy" and some casual situations. But be warned, awkward moments will still happen and you'll need to be able to laugh at yourself. Also, if your accent is good enough, people might actually think you're a native and you'll suddenly find yourself overwhelmed with very fast and barely comprehensible French!
Just for fun, I'll also pass along an amateurish video of a "circuit" I walked regularly in Paris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S18n...
It's nowhere near as polished or entertaining as Sonia's videos, but hey, no such thing as too many videos about Paris. :) And it might whet your appetite a little if you're considering a similar trip of your own.
Bonne chance et au revoir, mes amis!
