Answer Question
Ich bin fertig: Level V
I moved on to Hueber (actually Hüber, but diacritical marks are not allowed on the Internet), Level A1, a 56 page booklet entitled Lustige Sprachrätsel (literally, Fun Word Puzzles). It produced 170 vocabulary cards. Of course I learn all the words in the instructions, and some of the cards were for words for which I just had to learn the gender. But still, kind of bummed out: 2.5 years on Fluenz. A German friend said that a 7 or 8 year old native speaker should be able to understand the instructions. And I learned every word that Fluenz taught. But, not to be too dismayed: I ordered more A1 books from Hüber, and I have some easy literature books from them to look forward to (Faust, Rumplestillskin, etc.) Also found DW Deutsch, and with some dictionary work (and with the knowledge of the words in the instructions of the crossword booklet,) I can understand A1 instructions without resorting to changing to English. For the lower levels it is apparently kostenfrei.
Best of luck to everyone.
