Answer Question
Choice of verbs
Greetings all,
I have just started lesson 3 in Spanish LA level 2, so please excuse me if my question is premature. During the conversation, the man asks: ¿Hay sopa de pescado? (Is there fish soup?) Would it not be more logical (or grammatically correct) to ask: ¿Tienes sopa de pescado? (Do you (informal) have fish soup?)
There seems to be other instances where the verb Tener – to have – where it is not being used. Is the verb, Tener, one that will be explored in later lessons, or is there some other reason it is not being used in this type of situation? Am I missing something? Thank you.
