Answer Question
More variations please.
It seems to me that repetition, without variation, is not as productive as a learning process with some variety would provide. In processes like "Write the phrase you read" or "Write the phrase you hear" as it now exists it becomes a rote process that doesn't stimulate as much learning as would be possible with some variation in phrasing. When the first part of a phrase is "Come stai?" and it is repeated exactly the same for five consecutive times, with more added on each time, it becomes rote from memory and does not stimulate the learning/listening process. It would make the student think more about what he/she is hearing if it were slightly varied. "Come sta?" for instance would evoke a slightly different response. If "Non sto bene" became "sto molto bene" in the next iteration, the student would be learning the same basic information, but it would require more thinking than just repeating without thinking. Make me "think" every time I read or hear something and I will be a more flexible learner.
