Answer Question
Trouble understanding when to use "conocer" or "saber".
I'm trying to understand when to use these two verbs, conocer or saber. I've been told by a Spanish speaker that you use conocer when you are speaking about knowing "someone" and you would use saber when you are speaking about knowing "something". That, in itself, is easy for me to comprehend, however, here is where my confusion comes in. In the sentence, "Do you know who he is?", the translation is, "Sabe quien es?". Why wouldn't the translation be, "Conoce a quien es?" since the question is referring to a person?
I appreciate any clarification anyone can lend.
