Answer Question
Telling time in the past
In Session 9 of Level 5, there is a short description of how to tell time in the past by using the imperfect tense. For example, "era alle otto" means "(it) was at eight." However, I am confused by the second example given - "erano le sei" which means "(it) was six." The example using "era" makes sense because it relates to a singular thing, i.e., "it." I don't understand the use of "erano" (which I thought meant "they were or used to be") in conjunction with time. Can someone please explain?
