Answer Question
Article le/la/les after certain verbs in front of the object noun!
I noticed some things.
Early on in Levels 1 + 2, verbs like « want », « buy », « give », « bring » need to have du/de la (m/f)
Ex 1 : She wants chicken = Elle veut du poulet
Ex 2 : I am buying salad = J’achète de la salade
Ex 3 : We are bringing wine = Nous apportons du vin.
Because we're not wanting/buying/bringing ALL of those items in the world, just a few. Hence why we use du/de la
But other verbs introduced in Level 3 need to have le/la/les in front of the object noun!
Verbs « like » and « prefer » need to have an article with the object.
Ex 4 : I like chicken = J’aime bien le poulet
Ex 5 : He prefers ham = Il préfère le jambon
Ex 6 : We love water = Nous aimons l’eau
Maybe it's because you're saying you like chicken as a whole, or he prefers ham entirely.
