Answer Question
Another question about 'de' vs 'des'
I'm a third of the way through disk 5 and yet I'm still unclear as to why in one example (lesson 5/9) , the correct answer is given as "Mon oncle sait preparer de bonnes tartes aux fruits" and yet the next phrase is "Sa cousine fait des tartes aux tomates et aux oignons delicieuses". I see no difference in these two usages of 'de(s)' and am baffled as to why one is plural and the other is not, even though in both cases, the objects to which they refer are plural. Similarly in lesson 10, "Write the words you read" exercise appears the phrases: "De bons ingrédients" & "Des invités agréables". Again I fail to see the distinction between the two. Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks in advance.
