Answer Question
Level 4, lesson 30, Write The Phrase you Read
So I keep getting this translation wrong every time I come upon this question. The English phrase here is:
"I have to buy some gifts for the children. I think I’m going to give them clothes"
I always want to translate it like this:
"Je dois acheter des cadeaux pour les enfants. Je pense que je vais leur donner des vêtements"
That gets flagged incorrect, because they tell me I should have said: "aux enfants" instead of "pour les enfants."
I understand this, as it is covered in the lecture. But is it actually WRONG to use: "pour les enfants?" Is that totally incorrect, or is "aux" simply a better way to say it?
Thanks,
Brian
