Answer Question
Question about Level 3 Session 13 workout:
In the tutorial for this session Carolyn gives the following example: "Je vais les aider a faire..." (I'm going to help them do...), and then adds the comment that the "a" always goes after aider, but offers no other explanation as to why it goes there or when it doesn't need to go there.
Then in the workout I come across this sentence in the Write the Phrase You Read section:
"They’ve sent someone to room seven hundred and two in order to help Anne."
The translated answer given is:
"Ils ont envoyé quelqu’un à la chambre sept cent deux pour aider Anne."
Why is the no "a" after aider in this sentence? I'm sure there's a simple answer and would appreciate some elaboration on the rule.
Thanks in advance...
Sam
