Answer Question
Infinitve forms of reflexive verbs
In this session, we learned the reflexive verb "allenarsi." In one of the exercises, however, the form "allenare" is used. The sentence is: Non mi sono potuto allenare. The use of "mi sono" indicates a reflexive verb but why is "allenare" used here? Is this the infinitive form? I understand using the infinitive because it follows "potuto" but why is it not "allenarmi"? Do all relexive verbs need to be in the -are/-ere/-ire format when they follow another verb? I don't remember seeing this in the earlier sessions.
