Answer Question
Debajo vs abajo, atras vs detras, and adelante vs delante
In this lesson the phrases "abajo de," "atras de," and "adelante de" are introduced as how to express being underneath, behind, and in front of something. However, many sources on the internet (as well as my high school Spanish classes long ago) assert that the correct way to say these things is "debajo de," "detras de," and "delante de," respectively.
Are these phrases interchangeable? Is this a regional distinction?
I would like to know what the issue is and what was Fluenz's rationale for choosing the "a versions" as opposed to the "de versions" of these expressions. Thanks!
